About ‘The Hip Grandmother’

Ty 9-23-13Created in 2011, Tyster Gallery is a therapeutic art gallery. This spawned two blogs (the first made a year apart): Reflections of a Shaddow and The Hip Grandmother.

I am a soon-to-be grandparent to a single mother chronicling the stages of her pregnancy. After the birth, I plan to welcome viewers into our lives and share the joy of what it means to be able to be a grandparent and single woman.

Your comments and likes are always welcomed! Come join the party, it doesn’t start until I get there!

  • I love that serene look on your face… thank you for being willing to share your life and blessings. Thank you for the follow too! Please be aware that my blog is a bilingual one.
So you may get links to some poems in English as well as to some in Italian…
I’m trying to keep the posting balanced between the two languages.

  • Hip, thanks for taking time to stop at my blog, and for deciding to follow. I do appreciate that. Also congrats on being a grandma, as a grandfather myself it is a pure joy. Take care, Bill

  • Hello Hip Grandmother, you must be the youngest and most beautiful grandmother ever. Surely your grandchildren will have a fun grandmother to be with. I commend you for what you do with this blog, I think it’s a good work, so I wish you the best with that. Also, I would like to thank you for following my blog. May the Saturday posts that I write in there be of any use to you. Blessings and love to you ♥

  • Hmm it appears like your blog ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any suggestions for first-time blog writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.

  • ooops, I’ll try again…

thank you for visiting and following my blog…congrats on the grand baby girl! I too am waiting the birth of a little princess…my son and his wife are expecting this coming Friday…she will be induced as she has gestational diabetes. this will be my third grandchild, but first little girl… 🙂

  • Hi Hip Grandmother and thanks so much for following my blog. As a new mom (my boy is four months old) I can totally relate to the excitement and joy as your family is expanding and wish you all a wonderful journey. I will be following along as well. Happy blogging 🙂

  • So I guess you have just become one of The Spikey’s, that small clan of folk known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂

Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.

My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures since the 70′s, as well as day to day happenings on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it. Of course, if you have any suggestions for me, I’d love to hear from you, serious.

In return, I promise not to be overbearing with perhaps 2-3 posts a day tops. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

Thanks again for your vote of confidence, and hope you have a great day…
