….In the beginning….

Published October 15, 2013 by The Hip Grandmother

I guess you can call me a “feminist” but these inventions were the start to make OUR lives easier. You don’t see men inventing stuff to make our lives easier….well…maybe.

You really should comment and tell me if you think I am wrong. I would appreciate a great conversation.

  • I love history. This is a great way to learn how many of our modern conveniences came from. It is Iinteresting how I assumed most of those things has been invented by a man. Thanks for posting this.

  • #22 Mary Anderson and Charlotte Bridgwood’s Windshield Wipers were my favorite. Related to the men who don’t turn on their headlights in rain or fog so their oncoming cars can be seen, I imagine men or their day scoffing the invention because they didn’t really need to see, they knew the road.

      • I think that all the time, but my listeners don’t always agree. Today at work Dave answered one of my jokes with “it must be a yankee thing,” instead of a chortle. I said, “just because you don’t get it doesn’t mean it’s not hilarious, it means your from around here.”

      • HA! It’s crazy how most men have a “delusional” idea that we don’t understand what is going on around us…for instance: finding a car. I am in a little town 20 mins south of Knoxville, TN and the females of my family are so irritated on how we have to bring a “man” (doesn’t have to be a mechanically-educated man, just a man) just to go car shopping.
Ironically, my family is from upstate New York so we aren’t from around here either! 🙂
